Absolutely Carp – Rods, Reels, Fishing Tackle

Locating the fish in question is almost always the best way to start fishing. Of course using a good rig is also a good idea but it really doesn’t matter quite how good your rig is, if you cast in area where there simply aren’t any fish, then you won’t catch anything! Experts will tell you that you need to read the conditions, not just of the water at the moment you are fishing, but the weather from the previous day or so. Different conditions are likely to make the carp do different things. Carp seem to love a bit of cover, so when you are all set with your carp rods and carp reels then check out the water, look for areas of cover such as islands, weed or reed beds, overhanging trees or even waters that are shallow. The conditions of the lake or river may have driven or encouraged the fish to these areas and whilst everyone else is fishing in the middle, you might have a field day in your own little spot! So, perhaps the best tip for catching carp or any other fish for that matter is to continue to hone and improve your water craft. Carp, of course come in many different shapes and sizes and there are always a few “monsters” to be caught, so armed with the right fishing tackle, a good reading of the conditions and why not throw in a drop of luck and you could well be holding one of those monster fish at the end of the day!
